Edouard Kiefer, Alsacien, ancien flic des RG D\u00e9tective charg\u00e9 de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de l\u2019h\u00f4tel et de ses clients. Discret et intouchable, nul ne sait ce qu\u2019il pense.<\/p>\n

Dans un Paris vaincu, occup\u00e9, humili\u00e9, aux heures les plus sombres de la collaboration, cet homme est hant\u00e9 par une question : jusqu\u2019o\u00f9 aller sans trahir sa conscience ? De 1938 \u00e0 1945, l\u2019h\u00f4tel Lutecia \u2013 L\u2019unique palace de la rive gauche \u2013 partage le destin de la France. Entre ses murs se succ\u00e8dent exil\u00e9s, \u00e9crivains et artistes, puis officiers nazis et trafiquants du march\u00e9 noir, pour laisser place enfin \u00e0 la cohorte des d\u00e9port\u00e9s de retour des camps.<\/p>\n

En accordant pr\u00e9cision bibliographique et souffle romanesque, Pierre Asssouline redonne vie \u00e0 la l\u00e9gende perdue du grand h\u00f4tel, avec un art du clair-obscur qui convient mieux que tout autre au mythique Lutecia.<\/p>\n
