Un million : c\u2019est le nombre de soldats allemands prisonniers en France, \u00e0 partir de juin 1944 et jusqu\u2019en d\u00e9cembre 1948. A travers les registres des camps, les archives d\u00e9partementales et celles de la gendarmerie, ainsi que les rapports de la Croix-Rouge et les correspondances priv\u00e9es, c\u2019est ce singulier itin\u00e9raire collectif que retrace ici Valentin Schneider. Un parcours qui du d\u00e9minage aux travaux des champs, en passant par la difficile cohabitation avec la population, a constitu\u00e9 une aventure humaine complexe, o\u00f9 la faim, les mauvais traitements et la mort ont trouv\u00e9 leur place, mais aussi une \u00e9tonnante exp\u00e9rience de vie commune, dans une France confront\u00e9e aux d\u00e9fis de la reconstruction. En 1948, 20% de ceux qui restaient employ\u00e9s sur le territoire ont choisi d\u2019y demeurer\u2026 Leur histoire n\u2019avait pas encore \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9crite<\/p>\n
